GI (Galvanized Iron) sheets are categorized into cold-rolled base sheets, electro-galvanized base sheets, and hot-dipped galvanized base sheets, among others. The appropriate material with suitable mechanical properties is selected based on the intended use. Among these, color-coated steel sheets made from electro-galvanized base sheets offer better corrosion resistance than those made from cold-rolled base sheets due to the protective zinc layer, along with superior workabi lity. For hot-dipped galvanized base sheets, the zinc coating weight, zinc layer morphology, and surface finish can be chosen according to the specific usage environment. Typically, hot-dipped galvanized sheets with regular spangle, minimal spangle, or no spangle can all serve as substrates for color coating.
